Track Days For Young Riders???

Are there any track days for young riders?? My son wants to ride his TZ125, but GSS and Ridesmart will not let him due to his age. He is 12 and has raced with CMRA for a bit over a year. Prior to that he motocrossed for almost 5 years ending up in the 85cc classes. He currently sits in 2nd in CMRA F6 sprints, 3rd in F5, and 1st in F7 endurance. Granted, he will not fly on the bike early on, but I think by the end of the day he will be up to speed. We would really like to attend a track day as close to Houston as possible. Any suggestions?

Send a message via AIM to Scorpio
I wasn't aware that there was an age restriction with Groove Union.
Seems like he would be fine running that TZ in the lightweight class.
Might try contacting Godsuki to see if there are any ways around this.

He can ride with LSTD as long as he has permission from (both) parent(s).

Of course riding at TWS (Texas World Speedway) on that bike may not be as much fun, so I'd only sign him up for days when LSTD is running a "mini" group there.

Thanks. My next call was going to be to Steve with LSTD to see if they offered something for a non-race weekend group for this type of bike, but most especially his age. That seems to be the biggest stickler with everyone.

With signed consent from both parents, he can ride with Groove Union. Contact me and we can talk more about it.

Mike, Jay Jay Newton "Go Fast's" son did his roadrace school through TMGP. The track time James is looking for is for a TZ 125 Yamaha.
