I don't smoke, never have. All of my grandparents and both of my parents died from smoking related diseases, and yes, it does anger me when I see a parent smoking in a car with their toddler inside.

BUT, it's just one more instance of the government eroding your freedom.
It continues a precedent on the governtment controlling your lif by "protecting us from ourselves".

It's the same arguement used in gun control, attempting to ban superbikes and anything else that some politician feels is "unsafe".

I'd rather they direct their attention / energies to other problems, say; education, health care, REAL crime control.

I TOTALLY agree... but as I mentioned before (and it's only MY opinion); I'm OK with it since it protects those who cannot protect themselves. It me off when parents smoke around children.
