Unless you own a harley... pull out the piggy bank and get some quality pipes.

I think you run a high risk of burning your valves prematurely.

you wont make any friends and your ears will hate you for it.

Going to an oem slip on reduces alot of back pressure from the system over a stock pipe.

Straight pipes will hamper your performance unless the bike is set up for it. The popping from the exhaust on decel can cause exhaust valve burning as mentioned above by AJ.

Depending on what type of bike you have, you can simply replace the baffle inside the exhaust. It will only cost around $100.

can u? sure, i aint your mama, go ahead. but be warned it will scream!!! i've ridden Vtwin and I4 with no can and it sucked. i even traded a yoshi or something header for a stock header with yoshi cans. i felt a power difference but it was worth it IMO. gets the wrong kind of attention too...

no exhaust= loud as f#ck!!
my buddy put a short slip on that looks like the 07 and up R6 and it was too loud, then he went and put the normal slip on on his bike then it was way to quiet.
so....do a little bit more of research about this because it will be very loud to put just straight pipe other then hurting your performance and engine.

on my R6 it sounds perfect, when im cruising its not too loud and when i get on it, well........it just screams!!!! i put the GYTR from yamaha and then put a mid pipe so that i can get rid off the catalytic converter. something that your bike doesn't have (lest work to do)
