Motorcyle Inspection

What is checked for in a MC inspection?

Does my high beam need to work? Low beam works fine but no high beam.

I searched the DOT inspection site for a while and couldn't find the moto-specific passage, even though it's apparently supposed to be 05.07 20.01-20.35

They got me on a license plate light. I had a friend there that gave me the hook up though.

, i know tons of guys that run w/o inspection. if you get a ticket, you can get it dismissed by getting an inspection then! I don't think DL have to do with counties, it is a state thing

Works great until they decide to impound your vehicle for not having an inspection. And yes, it does happen.

^ yeah, I got 3 tickets, inspection, registration and M endorsement when I rode to Houston last weekend. I got to ride away but I understand that not to always be the case.

I would still want to see a case where a bike was impounded for having an inspection that expired less than a month ago. any examples?

yeah, the cop was like, "reason I pulled you over is that your registration expired last month." I said, "yeah, inspection expired 4 years ago." He says, "didn't even notice that, here's your tickets."

lol, fml

anyone have a link to the new law that I believe Challen mentioned in another thread about the surcharge of $100 a year for three years for a ticket for no M endorsement?

I don't want to take MSF to get my license but I really don't want to pay an extra $300 on top of the ticket.
I've been riding a long time and stupidly missed the window for just going down and passing the riding test for my license.

Wasn't me. I think it was Fresnel that talked about the surcharges.

Found it:

I have no brake light switch on my rear. I have passed inspection the past 2 years in a row. I have the pressure switch, but haven't bothered to install it yet.

I'm not saying that it should pass. I'm just saying it has passed. I take the bike to the same place as the car, which doesn't see many motorcycles at all. This is probably the reason.
