You didn't give a price so its kind of hard to help. Why not just buy the one that is most comfortable? All 600's are close in performance anyway.

That is my dilemma they are all close in performance thats why I was hoping people would be helpful and post why in their opinion based on experience one model has a leg up on another. Im looking to spend around $3500 if that helps.

For what you want the bike, this is the best answer so far. Maybe include the FZ6 in the pool. Those bikes are good commuters and also have some power for the twisties.

I love my Yamaha FZ6. It's comfortable, quick, uses regular unleaded and can be had for cheap even new if you find some leftover '08/'09 models. Everyone has had a problem w/a manufacturer at some point. Forget the "anything but a Yamaha nonsense."

My advice would be to get what you want, even if it costs a little more than you are budgeting for. If you do this, you will not yearn for what you really wanted after settling for something that was cheaper or not quite the color you wanted. If you do this, you will be able to avoid buying/selling and losing money.

Coming from a supersport, you will probably be disappointed by anything less. After getting my CBR1000 last week and putting about 350 miles on it, I rode around on the FZ6 for a bit and it left a lot to be desired (but it was was infinitely more comfortable).

I can't speak for other 1000cc bikes, but the '09 CBR1000s are very "friendly." I rode an '06 and an '07 and going from 8-35mph was exhilarating but scary. I say this because I was considering another 600 supersport after totaling my '09 CBR600 last year, but I have no regrets about getting on a liter bike. Insurance is comparable too....only like $11 more a month for insurance (for me anyway).

I would look into a 03-04 636. It's in your price range, is a Kawi, and the 636 engine will hang with most current model 600's for a fraction of the price.

I've never had a problem on startup, even with having the bike sit for about a week.

I hear cbr's are light and quick. Kawis, well, there are lots of those around now-a-days. Gixxers, the momma comment. Yammies - tranny issues?

I agree with getting a 636.

Well I have my 750 Katana for sale. Sport touring, means a more comfortable riding position for commuting. It's an 06 so it is carved but i have a yoshi CF pipe and k&n filter that helped the performance. Ask cali about how they are in the twisties. If you wanna ride it holla at me.

1st choice--- 03-04 636
2nd choice--- 04-05 gsxr 600
3rd choice--- 05-06 636

it's tough between 1st and 2nd choice though...1st one would be cheaper and rarer!
