Who has a 2009 R1?

Have you had the CCT replaced, and if so what dealer did you take it to? I have read Yamaha will replace it under warranty, but some dealers are saying they know nothing about it. I would prefer to take it to a dealer that has dealt with the issue so I don't have to jump through hoops to get it replaced.

Thanks for the help!

Its not recall. Yamaha claims it will not actually damage the engine, but they will still replace it for customers who complain about the ticking noise at start-up.

I will get one if I can't get the dealer to replace it or it doesn't fix the issue.

Ahh it's ticking on start up because it doesn't have the oil pressure yet on the hydraulic CCT. My ZX14 has the same problem but I went ahead and got the APE manual one. I don't think a new OEM CCT will fix the problem....It's more of a design flaw

You're exactly right. No one really knows whether the new CCT is actually a different design or not. The 2010's, which are identical, do not seem to have the problem as frequently. I will find out next when I take it in to the dealer.
