New York's Fastest

Great article!!!

It brings memories of the old days of the "610 in 10" bullshit!!!! Those were the days..!!!

Quote:

There exists in New York a small cadre of underground riders who do incredibly dangerous things on sportsbikes. Despite creating an incredibly negative perception of all motorcyclists among the general public and the police, these specific riders are nevertheless highly respected throughout most of the motorcycle community for the risks they take. Here, one of the better known members of that small group decided to take his BMW S1000RR to the L.I.E during the middle of the night to see how fast it would go. The result? A GPS-verified sustained maximum velocity of 192mph. We shouldn't have to tell you not to try this yourself.

respect?? more like stupidity... night time,186, not my idea of fun... just sayin

there is a time and a place for that kind of riding and this is def not it.

i like how he said that it was the money for a td and tires that was keeping him off the track but yet he's riding a $15,000 bmw

Parts I understood like when there's less traffic and doing what the bike is built for, but it didn't sound like the smartest of men doing it.. Sounded like the challenged group got in to the glue again. I don't have the nuts to go that fast.. So that makes me slow... (and alive)... But he says then I shouldn't be on a bike them.. So every lambo, vet, viper, mosi should be doing 140 down the highway and that's the only time they should be driven? So then everyone should be in lil stock civics or something slower that's just build for commuting.. k

I mean, I read it (even after reading all the comments that should have warned me) saying I'll give it a chance... let the make their case.. But the more I read, the more I could remember how my friends sounded when they were sniffing glue or paint.

+1 If he really was fast he would be making alot of money from his talents.

I love his lame excuse about money being why he doesn't go to the track.

How much respect do you reserve for someone that can duck behind the fairing and pin the throttle? on public roads?

Seriously if he wants to do that he should go to Bonneville or some place similar. Then he can get the respect of his peers, not put others at risk AND find out how slow his is compared to the serious speed freaks.

Ok.. I wasn't the only one that noticed that. I was thinking how I was respecting the one thing he said about leaving your ego at the door because egos get you killed, but then I felt his ego growing big time.. Interesting.
