Unhappy Well, its come to this. Gonna sell my bike.

Lost my job and I cant sell my truck, so the bike has to go. Its depressing. I know I look like a moron riding it, but its still a of a lot of fun.(I'm 6'4" and nearly 300lbs, its a ninja 500, i'm a bit big for it) I keep telling myself that I'll get another one, but the way things are going, it doesnt look promising. I'm married now, and my wife is sick, and i need to go to school, and the list goes on. I do have a part time job, and its pretty cool, but cool doesnt pay the bills. (work EMS for the reliant arena, football games and concerts and stuff. but nothings open for the next month and a half.)

I know I havent been on here long, and that I've only gone on one group ride, but I'll miss it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.(, I'm a nerd.)

Why don't everyone chunk like $20 his way and see if he can make it for a month so that he doesn't have to sell and get a f/t job, etc... I mean if 100 people do it, that's $2k. That can tie a month over. And $20 shouldn't hurt any one individual... Just means you can't buy a case of beer for that week..

If someone is near here to collect and pass to him let me know, even though this has been a bad week, I'll be happy to mustard up that much.. And who'd miss $20 to have to get paid back.. right? Just food for thought.. I mean we come together when a rider is down, but does down ONLY have to mean injury?

Oh, btw, think about it.. cost you $20.. but may save a rider to be able to come out and ride again with you. And for those that throw events.. make him pay it back by coming out and working the even if possible like setting up the biker's parking area. be a greeter at the door.. posting fliers on the net.. wtf-eva.. Ya know.. Again.. just food for though.

Hey - don't get down. You don't have to stop posting just because you don't have a bike! And it's only temporary - just keep your thoughts positive on getting an even better bike in the future when work picks up and you're doing better. Stay positive!

@OP:
Dude, I saw you at starbucks near 59/99 sometime ago, probably a couple of months back and you had someone else with you.

As everyone else mentioned, I too am sad to hear a rider have to give up riding. IMO, there is a time for everything. Set your priorities straight for now, and come back later.

Sucks to see somebody get out of riding. Hope you change your mind if at all possible.

Sorry to hear that you're down right now.

But it's a good thing you've got your head on straight.
Riding is a hobby (unless it's your only form of commute), but when things are slim that should be the first thing to go.

Glad to hear your priorities are straight. Take care of the people in your life first.
