How Many Guns....

How many guns do you own?

Pistols?

Long guns? (Rifles, shotguns, etc.)

How long have you been shooting?

How old were you when you got your first gun?

How often do you go to the range?

Do you have a CHL?

I'll go first:

How many guns do you own? 15

Pistols? 8

Long guns? (Rifles, shotguns, etc.) 7

How long have you been shooting? 39 years.

How old were you when you got your first gun? 5, a Daisy 1864 lever action bb gun. First rifle at 6, my dad's .22 lr, first pistol at 18, a Colt .45 Gov't model, still have it.

How often do you go to the range? once or twice a week.

Do you have a CHL? Finally making time to get it this month. Classes are on Saturday so I have to take off from the shop.

LMAO @ Red!:laughing6

Leo,
Either a Ruger 10/22 rifle or a Walther P22 pistol can be bought for between $150.00 to $300.00. Both are accurate, easy to shoot weapons that would be an excellent first choice to start with, plus ammo is super cheap!
If you're really interested, give me a call and I'll go with you to look at some guns and take you to the range a few times.

I own a small arsenal myself
Bengamin 5cal pellet gun Gamo850Carbine(for nutrea rats)
Ruger.22 with a ridiculously large scope(coons, rabbits, cats, etc.)
SKS(I hunt hogs quite often with this trusty old piece)
.243 and .270( i used to deer hunt when i was younger)
Remington 870 Express Magnum(duck hunting gun)
30/30(my favorite rifle of them all!!!)
and last but not least, a Walther P99 .40cal(the gun i used to get my CHL!!)
I was given a red ryder when i was about 4or5, and have been an avid plinker ever since. I wish i went to the range more often, but i probably only go every month or so.

take the class w/ an automatic your comfy with, then get a light one you like. Class is a breeze, its more of the instructor observing you, to make sure your not a dumb .

Glock makes a good weapon, although at this point though I am really liking the Springfield Armory XD series for several reasons..
They are just as accurate as the Glock, they fit my hand better, have a beavertail safety, and the pricing is less; expect $469.95 to $499.95 for a .40 cal XD 3" subcompact or 4" service model, complete with extra mags, holster, speed loader and mag holder.
The 3" subcompact is a great concealed carry weapon, although because of it's short length it can be a little bit of a handful in terms of recoil recovery for a novice.
IMO the 4" service model is probably an all around better weapon and still very concealable. I own two 4" .40 XD's; The std service model and the V10 ported which will probably be my range weapon in IDPA.
Best pricing around is Gander Mountain or Carter Country.
