'10 R6--Any thoughts....

I just upgraded to the 2010 R6, pearl white as per my "Took the Plunge..." post, so now I have a question...

For you fellow 08-10 R6 owners, what do you recommend as far as performance, fender eliminators, and that sort of stuff....just looking for casual opinions, maybe pics of FE's or links to them, that sort of stuff....

Thanks in advance.

Mod the rider before the bike. Head to the track.

like above poster said
full akra system, but pcv instead + autotune
or full leo
or full termi

just to clean the bike up a little:
motodynamic integrated tail light
graves fender eliminator
proton/watson flush mounts

ss/kevlar/carbon fiber brake lines + new brake pads. yamaha screwed something up in '09 and the brakes suck. maybe they fixed it for '10.

if you have the time/money:
dual headlight projector conversion
crg/asv/pazzo levers

or instead of a full system,

get Slip-On of choice + mjs headers/t-tuner mid-pipe, but you will still need fuel controller (pcv)

oh yea, and if you're replacing the exhaust, get the Graves/bazzaz Exup plug so that you can remove the servo motor without getting an engine code

trilai--thanks man, you seem to be in the right direction with what i was looking for. I ordered the Motodynamic sequential tail light first thing yesterday...that stock fender is for the birds. I suppose I'll start saving for the performance mods, dang exhaust for these things is at Corvette pricing.

If you only do street riding, don't do performance mods. You will be only throwing your money away. In reality for riding the street, there is no need for a full pipe. Get a slip on. Don't even get the PCIII or Bazzaz.

For pure looks, get some shorty levers, I had ASV and they were great. Maybe some rearsets, integrated turn signals and taillight, etc.

That is just my 2 pesos.

I have the full Akra system and love it. That said though, my casual opinion is:
If I had it to do over, I would upgrade suspension first. Get an ohlins rear shock and maybe some race tech upgrades for the forks.

The exhaust is mostly an aesthetic on the street, in my opinion.

I feel confident that I would be faster with better suspension and stock exhaust, rather than vice versa.

Either way, have fun with it! The others here have given solid input, they are steering you in the right direction IMO

+1,000,000!

Get a good dampner, some levers, SS brake lines (front only), and a radar detector.
