Cleaners lost my clothes!

What should I do? I dropped off 4 garments last week, and today the guy told me i had already picked them up . I had the damned green ticket in my hands when i walked in today, yet my clothes were gone(according to him). What should i do? I'm going to visit him again in the morning and let him know I DO NOT have my clothes, and I want them back(as nicely as possible of course). Do i have any recourse? I still have the ticket i was given when i dropped my clothes off, and it states "we are not responsible for garments left over thirty days". It's only been a week!! If you have any good advice, please pass it on. thanks for looking Joe

i think most cleaners will reimburse you for missing clothing. they probably need to file the complaint, do a search, and when they don't find anything cut you a check. it may take a while for you to get a check back.

hopefully they gave the wrong clothes to someone else and when they realize it they'll bring them back.

how would they figure what your clothes are worth??

What if the customer claimed that it's worth 1k when it's really worth 50 bucks?

oh, i'd be !!! I only take my nicest clothes into the cleaners and if they lost them I would just go nuts. The nice slacks I buy cost $150 a pair, and my nice shirts cost $60 bucks.

The cleaners i go to were giving me other peoples clothes and I took them back and told them I wouldn't do business with them again in fear of them giving my clothes away. I'm always looking for a new cleaners to go to. :(
