Volunteers are passing out fliers and combing the area for a Sugar Land teenager who disappeared late Friday, officials said.

Ashton Glover, 16, was last seen about 11 p.m. near University and Commonwealth when she got into a white Toyota pickup with an unknown man, Texas Equu- Search officials said Sunday.

The only reason that I could find fault in the system is what is a 19 y/o doing out on the strip? If there were stricter enforcement of ID's at the clubs there might be one less missing/dead kid out there today.

But, it all comes down to personal responsibility. She wasn't forced at gunpoint to get into the truck, she did it willingly. I read on one of the news websites that her dad said that she was independent but responsible, sadly she was not responsible enough.

There are predators out in the real world that look for opportunities to take advantage of all kinds of people, not just young dumb ones. Unfortunately it can end in sadness as in this case.

Sometimes we all do stupid thing! Granted it is not smart to get into a car with someone you hardly know! Anyhow, I really hope and pray that she turns up ok! Thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family and friends!

Personal responsibility.

That doesn't mean that someone doesn't have empathy for the family and what they're going through. Racer X was addressing the question of "the city's blame" and wasn't directing his thoughts towards the family.

Every post on this thread doesn't have to be a sympathy thread for the family, it's people's thoughts. You want to start one where you can convey yours and others condolences to the family, I'm certain you know how.

No one here on the board coerced that young ADULT woman into the truck, she did it willingly and her family and friends will pay the price along with her.

You need to layoff the caps too.

man i agree with racerx,i mean it sucks it happened.but if she was brought up properly she would have made a better dicision.i mean shes old enough to know whats going on with the crime rate and all but she still does the opposite.yes the people are to blame for the outcome, but there would be no outcome like that if she had propper values taught to her at home."at home is wherre you learn everything at,if they dont give a fork, then you will grow to not give a fork" so it all comes back to the way she was raised.
