You obviously made the right steps in life where you have the liquid cash to fund something like this.

I am just starting out in this rat race called life. Not there yet.

bro,
My bike is nowhere near that price. I have had ALLOT of bike in the years. I do have a few years in age on you man. I just cant see spending that kind of money for something like that. I ride with people that have MUCHO money in their HD bike and it make mine look like a lil cheapo..It dont bother me tho. Im more comfortable on my sportbikes anyways...lol

Looks like he took your comment in response to his comment on the prices. As in the prices are not outlandish for you. Seeing as you are a harley rider, I could see the confusion.

Yea, After going through the last accident and the bills associated with it, it kinda hits you on JUST how much money you can burn. the hospital bills are more than what I paid for my bike.

With that being said, it also teaches you not to cheap out on things that are essential to riding. I.E. Healthcare and Motorcycle insurance.

My parents are harley riders. My dad is old skewl though, I understand his love for them. He says I need to have standards and one day he hopes he can teach me them before he dies. I told him I do have standards, I like riding more than repairing them. But, I completely understand he comes from the era when American made meant something. Today it doesn't stand true. I would love to have a classic like his '51 pan, but have no interest in modern day ones.

Dont get me wrong. I do love the new Street Glides and Road Glides. Man they are comfortable and rde like dreams. I respect the old school guys, have ridden with them, Hung out and understand where they are coming from. I just dont see spending the money like that. Why is the HD bike so expensive??? Because its AMERICAN MADE and has a USW sticker on the frame!! I truly think it is a crock of if you ask me and im a LOCAL UNITED STEELWORKER MYSELF!!!!!!!!

You are right. My mom had to go buy an '09 streetglide. Funny thing is, my dad rides a '99 softail while he is rebuilding his pan and has no interest in a new one. The streetglide looks comfy as , and has decent power for a harley. But I have said the same thing. You compare a harley to a bike and you not only pay 2x-3x more, but you get less for your money. More repairs, less hp, less torque, but you get that sound and the name harley that you can brag about. Not for me yet. I will say I do like the vrod, but that is the only one that interests me. Funny thing is, they had help designing that one.
