Dave mine did this as well one time, freaked me out pretty good but it's sounding like these 1KRR's are hard shifters. Whenever I miss neutral I just blip the throttle and pull up. It usually doesn't make a clunk if I do it correctly.

I don't they're "hard shifters", I just think the shifter has to travel farther going from first to second than any other gear upshift, and the rider gets used to the feel of second gear and higher upshifting and just doesn't lift high enough from first to second.

ok cool cause someone passed me at GSS then grabbed a hand full of brake. I came w/in 6" of slamming into him and I heard the guy behind me lock it up. I walked around looking for the guy so I could punch him in the but he must have been hiding

no one passed me all day (well, an instructor did once because I slowed up when Godsuki pitted) and when I blew second I had more than enough speed to take me through the turn until I got it in gear

Nope, I'm on a '09

This is the only one I know of:

May 29, 2009

IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE – 2008 CBR1000RR
Under sustained high-engine-speed usage, a coolant hose clamp located on the water pump cover on affected 2008 CBR1000RR motorcycles may be weakened by engine vibration.

Hey Bevo, here's your chance to poke fun of me after I started those smart comments. What's a suicide shifter?
