When I went to GP shift I never had this problem again; maybe that'll help...

...if all else fails I just scream "SHIFT!" really loud in my helmet and the bike shifts gears.

It's rider error on my part. I just didn't use enough force or travel for the shift into second.

Every time I'm rebuilding a transmission I find myself wondering how in the they tore it up so badly............Looks like I might have an answer.

If you're hitting false neutrals, adjust your shift pedal down so that you get a more firm shift into 2nd.

Was this on the 600 or the 1k? Either way, does it have a slipper clutch?

I had the same problem for a while. I blamed it on my new boots that were not broken in yet though

On a 1k you should have just left that hoe in 2nd gear an tore it up

Sorry man, wasn't trying to be a smartass. I thought you were kidding. I was just told what to do early on in my riding. And it does still seem to be hard on the bike.

I don't miss shifts on the street and rarely on the track but I was leaned over so body and foot position may have had something to do with it.

I had it happen a lot when I first got the bike and my first track day. I read somewhere that the gear box for Kawi was known for that You saying it is rider error makes sense since I haven't had the problem as much as I used to.

Hey Bevo... you may actually be faster (at GSS, anyway) by leaving it in second through the corners.

I was behind a slower rider in a turn so downshifted to first, passed them coming out of the turn in first, then missed the shift. I coasted into the next turn before getting it back in gear.
