One of the reasons I picked the R1 was because it was the most comfortable liter bike, IMO. I was originally leaning towards a ZX10R, but that thing was extremely uncomfortable.

I would go with a FZ1 if I did more touring.

I'm gonna put in a second vote for FZ1. I know everybody thinks the bike they have is the best for a bunch of reasons and I guess i'm the same but...

The FZ is fast, comfortable (all day comfortable), awesome brakes and FULLY adjustable suspension front AND rear. The price is right (cheap compared to liter SS bikes) and best of all (drumroll please) insurance companies don't consider them a supersport so it's cheap!

There is an 07 Tuono for like 5-6k on craigslist. Low miles. Best color ever. The tuono makes the FZ1 feel like a Toyota Corolla.
