06 gsxr 1000 port and polish

Ok I was thinkin bout gettin my head port and polished but I was told on the 06 gsxr 1000 it would not make much of a diff for what it would cost. Any input? Would I gain much or would it be pointless like I was told? Don't know much about port and polish on bikes.

That head is pretty well designed.
You'll get more with a set of cams or pistons.

x2 on the cams. those heads are so well designed some people retrofit them on the 01-04s for more power

get an 03-04 intake cam to put on your exhaust side and be done with it.

Thats like saying that a ford GT40 head is perfect from the factory, when in fact in the right hands you and extract a good amount of HP with just minor changes.
I have an 05-06 head sitting on my bench right now that I have been looking over to see where improvments could be made, and I see plenty from just removing the casting flaws left in the ports from the factory.
I will say that they dont need much in the way of being overly reshaped, but there are for sure some areas that need to be sharpened and smoothed out that would help with intake charge speed.
