I'm willing to bet you use that same tone when you're out drinking with your buddies at the bar

Nothing you can do will bring that man' life back, no matter how much you hate that young girl. At least maybe she can live with what she's done and make a difference in somebody's life.

The young girl is a friend of mine, she is definitely not handling this well.

You're right. She'll probably never have that chance again.

Good. Her stupid, self-centered behavior killed a man. She SHOULD be handling it badly.

The RAN too. Not just killed a man, but tried to run from it.

I HOPE she's taking it badly.

Friend or not - she is a prime example of stupid.

And your user text sums you up just right. If it was your daughter, I bet you would have a different demeanor. If not, I feel bad for your family.

I don't. She was totally in control of the situation from the beginning and made a series of stupid choices.

You are absolutely right about that. Cops make stupid choices too that cause people who are innocent to die. People make mistakes

If my daughter did something that abysmally stupid, I'd personally ensure she was thrown in jail.

There are some things I have no tolerance for - and stupidity is one of them.

This was completely in her control. She chose to drink. She chose to drive. She chose to not pay attention. She chose to run after hitting the man. She, and ONLY she, is fully responsible for the outcome.

Yes, I would feel different if this had been my daughter who did this - i would feel that I had utterly failed as a father.

I don't believe I defended her I just stated facts, I do enjoy how much you go out of your way to insult her.

If my daughter chose to do something that stupid, yes.

There is no excuse for it. None whatsoever. Take a cab. Call a friend. Stay there. Better yet, don't drink when you're under age.

My daughter will be told the same thing I was - if she's ever too drunk to drive, i don't care HOW late she calls me, I will ALWAYS come and get her.

You can try all you want to appeal to my emotions on this, but right is right and wrong is wrong. In this case, the stupid girl was 100% in the wrong.

And for the record - this kid was not old enough to be drinking. She is 19. Last time I looked, the drinking age is 21. Perhaps it is different in the little piece of the universe she inhabits.
