Have to agree with Brandon. The roads up in Livingston are pretty good.

After riding around out here in the southwest for 2 weeks I don't think I will ever be the same. The roads have been fantastic. The 10 and 15mph twisties in the mountains are to die for.

I have riden just about all roads in the area... To me the best in the area - 3 sistas dont count...

1) Livingston - from 224 - 2500
2) Fay'ville - 359
3) RR
4) Forest - 3090
5) Crabb -
6) Any lonely Cul-de-sac

Crabb is pretty good. Especially visiting the Industrial Rd and that CR out that way.

if cops were not a problem 149 from 105- richards is nice.. also the last 15 miles of 1488 before 290. also 362 isn't too bad either

The major "known" roads are good, but the others that connect them and are off the beaten path are where the variety come in. There's nothing like in the true mountains where you can have a stretch of twisties going 40-50 miles, instead of 5-10 like around here.

But it's what we have close, so you just have to get out and look around and mix it up.

I just pity da fools who stay on 610 and BW8 and never actually venture out to experience what a true curvy road is like.

Even better is the ones that stand up and say there are "no good roads around Houston".

3090 is like an afternoon or a morning ride for me. I still have a full day left. If I go through my East Livingston route, its like a 5-7+ hour ride out and back.

3090... 2-3 hours, and I ride it twice through.

And 224? Who likes that? Yuck. Always loaded wit cops out there.

I always see more cops on 149/3090 than I ever do on the NE side.

Distance isn't an issue for me... I live near Jersey Village so no matter what, it's 45-60 minutes just to get to the beginning.

Then again, I gots a nice little 120 mile loop of technicals not that far away...
