If I understand this your garage has a side door.
and both the side door was open and the garage door unloock.
Why would a theif use both doors, if they did not take anything large enough to need the garage opened and if they did then why would they close it.
Is your Artic Cat still there?
Are you sure you just didn't forget to lock up?
Maybe I miss undertand the situation.

It may not help the OP but this thread made me think of one very important security measure to keep in mind and that is, anonymity. If the thieves don't know the bikes in there, they're unlikely to break in. That means pay attention to see if someone follows you. Keep your bike inside at all times if at all possible. Just flat out don't tell people where you live if you can avoid it.

anytime i go out the last 2 miles or so coming home i make sure no one is behind me or following me.. my bike is like my child im always watching 24/7 and if someone is close i just cruise around for a bit then go home.. i never leave it outside NEVER!!! im just pretty sure someone saw me washing it during the day.

SupaDupa you have had a rough week, first your puppy, now this

If you don't already have one, you may want to consider putting a deadbolt on the garage side door. It may be enough of an inconvenience to intruders that they move on. If they don't well, if you're home . If you're not home, that's what insurance is for
