why is gear so.....important?? (video)

some people already saw this videoS...but.....i just dont have anything else to do right now other then look at some youtube videos.
so this are some of the worse crashes i've seen.

The first video was the PERFECT example why you should wear gear when riding....

The next 2 are just plain funny...

Wish I could post a video from one of the stunting videos i had back when... Some dude doing this wheelie on a median.. he rolls off of it lands a bit crooked and slides across the road into a guardrail post.. just a helmet (i think)

Is it the "cool" thing with stunters to wear very minimal to no gear when stunting? Most vids of guys doing this that I have seen, everyone is wearing very little to protect them.

To each their own, usually they say it interfeirs with their movements while
stunting. I'd think a horrid case of road rash would interfeir more than
some light armor.... Then again, I don't, never have, never will "stunt".

Have much respect for the skills though.
