Talking Old newbie

Took bike out for track day at TWS (Texas World Speedway). Every body was great and instructors were even better. Rode my old, but restored 1984 Yamaha RZ500. Have FZR front forks with YZF rear swingarm. EBC barke and Wilber rear shock. Bike did awsome and had a lot of compliments on bike. Ran it naked because still going thru shake down to be sure no leaks of any kind. Have two radiators installed with second rad only doing back cylinders due to they always ran hot. Temp did great, especially on a 95 degree day. Ran 4 times full out on staright and probably runs about 135mph or a little better. Did not look at speedo but instructor said he had to kick his bike down a gear. He was riding a GSXR 1000. He was really suprised how well the bike did, not just the straight, but the whole track. I am hooked!!!!!!!

Othe bike is a 96 Suzuki 1200 Bandit S. has stage 1 ignition kit, rejetted, and a GSXR muffler. Great bike, awfully fast with tons of touque. Little to fast for me. MY RZ fits me seein I am only 5'8" and 155lb wet.

Great to see all the avid riders and help available.
