Thoughts on this

Hi again,
The bike is at the shipping company in Topeka KS sealed and ready for shipping. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. According with eBay you have 5 days from the time you receive the bike to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not. Here is how it will work:
First of all,I will need the following details from you: full name, full shipping address. After I have received these details from you, I will forward them to eBay. After they will process your info, they will send both of us invoices. On the invoice you will find all the instructions on how to complete this transaction. eBay will contact me and I will ship the bike to you. After you receive the bike you will have 5 days to test it, verify it and do whatever you want with it. If you are going buy it, then I will receive the payment details from eBay so that I can pick up the money.
If you decide that you won't buy the bike , eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my bike ,all shipping fees will be paid by me. If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
Thank you,

Found a nice bike on craigslist. I am trying to see if or how this is a scam.

it is a big SCAM

1) because i am nigerian by birth
2) because i got the exct same email while shopping for a bike
3) because lets face it, if the deal is anything other than "come see the bike, if you like it, pay me and i give you the keys and title" you should stay away

scam , i sell on ebay all the time. tell him to send you a link to the auction and pay with paypal and certified check . ebay and paypal offer buyer protection and will refund you the money or forcibly take the money from the seller. If it is legit and on ebay you have very little to worry about. i like the idea of sending him your info and to see if the bike shows up ,doubt it ever will.

ebay is a very exelent buying/selling tool, it does force a contract which protects both the buyer and seller.

moral of the story buy my bike its on ebay heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMESELX%3AIT

Like you've heard before if it sounds to good to be true(the price) then it probably is!
(In this case it will ALWAYS be true) I you not! Some one who works for me wins a $1,000 off a scratch off and goes an puts the money down on a "Great Deal" and gets corn holed, tried to tell him but I'm the one who doesn't know what I'm talking about because it's going through Ebay! Dumb A$$ here's your sign!

I have no idea why, but when I talked to a dealership out of state about buying a bike they had on Ebay they told me I actually had to show up to that dealership to buy it. Sounded crazy to me, but that is what they said. Maybe someone else more experienced in this area could shed some light on the matter. I'd say bottom line that if you have to ask if this is a scam, don't buy anything expensive on ebay without a great deal of knowledgeable advice. No legitimate deal is going to go down like that unless the owner is retarded.
