what does ur manual say to use? if its 87 your bike was tuned to run 87 and will run best running that. higher octane like 93, burns slower so that might not be what you want since, your bike is made to run 87. Nothing will happen if you run 93 in your bike but why waste the money? you dont need it. the biggest scam ever was when they called 93 premium. it made ppl think oh i need to put the best in my car. Which is a bunch of bs. your car can actully run worse lose gas mileage and so on if its not tuned for it

I put 89 octane in mine. Some vehicles need higher octane some don't.

Here is a thread that talks all about octane. I did alot of research and, while the info may disagree with what you have heard, it is correct...

I've only ever run regular in my busa when I couldn't find supreme - but mine's stock and I honestly couldn't tell any difference. I only ran it because that's what the manual recommended - and you're talking less than 5 gallons a tank so I was never bothered by the extra 50 cents a tank.

In my truck if I don't run supreme I get bad detonation.

The only difference between "regular" and "premium" is the octane content, otherwise it's the exact same gas with the same detergents, etc. Higher octane fuels burn "slower" and prevent detonation, which can occur when the fuel is compressed too much, hence why many higher compression motors will recommend premium - that's what they're tuned for. Putting a fuel with a higher octane than what's recommended in the manual is nothing more than a waste of money, and can actually hinder performance, since that's not what it was designed to run on. Running an engine designed for premium on regular can result in damaging your engine, unless the computer can sense the lower octane and adjust the tune for it, again lowering the performance of your vehicle.

With that said, Busas and all other super sport bikes are designed to run on premium, so that's what you should put in.

Your truck may have knock sensors. Therefore its possible that the comptuer adds in significant timing when running high octane fuel because it doesn't knock. Bikes don't have knock sensors.

if you don't have a busa don't comment on what it is suppose to run. busa manual suggests 87 octane. and thats what is runs best on. my busa ran like a scalded ape with 87 and not so much with 93

Its not even octane content anymore. Its just a rating. Ergo regular pump gas in Texas (87) doesn't "contain" 87 octanes or 87% octane......it just burns at the same rate as a mixture of 87% octane and 13% heptane. So 100 octane fuel burns at exactly the same rate as pure (100%) octane, and 110 burns slower than pure octane.

The octane rating is a measure of the resistance of petrol and other fuels to autoignition in spark-ignition internal combustion engines.

My mistake. I had thought all of the super sport models, including Busas, were designed for premium.
