Ween's 6'4 and loved the VFR.

Go with whatever your comfortable with, who cares what you look like. Ride what you are comfortable with handling and set up you suspension to fit you.

Perfect - I'd only have to lower that one an inch or two. I bet I could get away with just shaving the seat.

There you go thinking you KNOW something again. I like nekkid. And I couldn't lower the Buell easily, or a Ducati, for that matter, so I am stuck with my Suzuki.

No, I was actually considering shaving MY seat... I think without all the padding I could get my feet to the ground easier... just a thought.

Thanks everyone for the input. Assuming the wife would let me get a 2nd bike in less than two months, I am thinking I would no 1k (if I found one that felt good) because though different, I have a derivative of the R6 engine in my FZ6. Hope it doesn't rain tomorrow so I can go peep everyone's rides at pp1.....been out of town for a while ;(

Do you dispute the fact that a gsxr has a shorter seat height than a SV?

Not at all. Do you dispute that they are both Suzukis and I never said I was SV's - I said I was Suzuki's .

I do not dispute that fact. The SV is still one of Suzuki's tallest sportbikes. Therefore, if your primary concern was seat height and you're limited to being suzuki's , this is still an SV fail.

You mentioned not owning a 600 but have you driven some? My buddy let me ride the cbr1000 some more today and I felt more comfortable on it but it would definitely take some time. I don't want to wish I got a 1000 after getting a 600 but I don't want to be nervous all the time driving a 1000 w/so much less margin for error if my hand slipped and I tugged on the throttle too much and lifted up the front end really high. I opened up all the way on my 600 more than once and it was no big deal.

I found a big like yours (Dave) w/like 3k miles for 6700 from a dealership in Baton Rouge....Killer deal. I'm usually an all black kind of guy though so if I go the 1k route, I hope to really find the color grabs me more in person than it has been online.

You sure about that. I'd never consider anything capable of cracking of 10s 1/4 miles as "no big deal."
