Good buy?

Hey all,

I found a Ninja 500 at a dealership for 2100 out the door, the bike has about 5000 miles on it.

NADA shows it should be from 1700 to 2200.

Just looking for some general input.

Thanks!

Good lord! If that's true then I would suspect that my bike is worth a lot less than I thought it was. I don't know but it sounds like a good price to me. Wait for the more experienced to chime in though. You can bet it is coming, which is one of the many good things about MH. I know that Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited can definitely give you the down low.

all depends on the YEAR which you left out, however. Thats a fair deal unless it's like 1980 :P

i just got my 500 2 months ago, $3,000 for a 2009 with 700 miles, clean title, clean bike, great condition, and an Extended warranty! BUT....the guy who sold it too me seemed pretty clueless and just wanted to get rid of it.

$2,100 is a steal , provided who ever had it did SOME maintanence the first 5k miles.

i'm no expert, but check tires, chain , hopefully they've change the oil at some point

as for the bike, its got plenty of power for a new rider and its super easy to manuver with, and has a light feel to it even though it's a heavy enough bike to feel confident on the highway. i just think it doesn't hold value all that well since.

A. it's only $5k brand new
B. with so many 600, 750, 1000's sport bikes, it's not in super high demand.

good luck, i think u will love it!

Its an 04 - tires look decent, along with the chain - overall clean looking, couple of dings and scratches, but doesn't look like it was dropped

Sounds like a fair deal, not a good deal. I'd buy the ninja 250 on the board here for $1300 and spend the rest of the money on trackdays and gear then bump up to a "modern" fuel injected bike in 6 months, and make a little cash on the 250.

Just my opinion.

Get Trini's bike, it would be a much better choice.

Thats a fair price if it includes tax title and license fees, those are solid bikes and will do you right if you are a beginner, and its a bonus if you are financing, if you are paying cash try and get them down a little more.
