generally GP shift is so that when your leaned over your boot wasn't under the shifter and giving less ground clearance

since your doing land speed stuff, why gp?

Racer X that's what I was thinking. Whats the point if you are just going fast in a straight line?

if you want it for the "one-off" cool

but otherwise spend your $ on learning to ride better, track days: straight or curvy.

Well even doing LSR. I think it may help when in full tuck and still trying to bang in the gears

Its not costing anything, just shipping

I just think it will be easyer

any thoughts from you LSR guys?

it is easier to push down to shift than lift your foot from under the shifter to upshift, more natural position for your foot means more comfortable ride as well as the clearance in turns, try it and you will love it, my bike stays GP even on the street

We all didn't race motorcycles as a career either mr. DINO!
So I still hold my opinion on the matter.

With GP shift it is easier to go through the gears when accelerating. All my street bikes have been GP shift for the last 7-8 years.

Are you going to sell some of those aftermarket parts on that Busa to pay for some trackdays

Get the GP shift. When I look into purchasing a bike, one thing I look at is can it be switched to GP shift and what it takes to make the switch.
