Sorry i couldnt make it, I hi-sided Saturday night. Coming to an intersection on sugarland-howell road a block from bissonnett, as i was about to enter, 4 police sherrifs responding to a call shot through sirens blaring. They ran through the stop sign, I saw them and hit the brakes and front tucked in the wet (BT003's) the bike catipulted me off up and over left to right, think Lorenzo in 2008. I landed on my roght side n back just short of a huge ditch filled wither water. I got up right away more that they made me crash and they didnt stop to help or see if i was okay either at least the last two cars saw me, some guys helps me up, the bike is okay no real damage. My ankle must have hit somewhere because i couldnt walk Sunday monring, I slept with my foot elevated but woke up at 10am, i wanted to ride with Rossi coming back nothing was gonna keep me out of the SMR, i can walk now and was out riding to get a feel for the bike and ankle after the crash, everything feels okay for now will test some more on RT night to be ready for Ducati at the next SMR see you all there!!!

RTM you mean the cops didn't stop? You serious?

Also, just out of curiosity. On all these group rides what's the point of of stating "RULES" when you can't stop someone from riding with you if they aren't wearing a jacket, etc.

I just thought it was weird so I wanted to ask. I'm all for safety and precautionary words, but you can't have "rules" per say.

LOL nope they just kept on going like I didn't just take flight from bike while it bull whipped to the ground trying to avoided entering the intersection they were flying threw...as far as the SMR's go trust me i have done some dangerous riding and welcome the more structured but still thrilling SMR's, i guess the idea is the have some sort of cooperation btw the riders to reduce the chances of one or a group of riders putting all at risk, that's what separates the SMR from other types of riding reserved for those with a skill set considered by some to be...UN, natural

Who says you can't? Peer pressure is usually enough to convince someone to wear gear, besides, from my experience it's usually new riders that don't wear gear; and unless it's a noob friendly ride or there's a sweeper, they'll probably get lost or wind up in a ditch anyway

I've been on more than a few group rides and set up one or two. If you show up to ride with us with no gear, we'll politely ask you to go home and find some. It's called caring enough about one another to ask them to wear the proper gear for the ride. If you don't care enough about your own self, then I don't want you along side me.
