Brand Pronunciation

This has been pressing on my mind for a long time, and I 've had this idea for a thread for a while but I always forget.

There are a lot of brands out there that I have heard pronounced ten different ways. If you know them, post up the correct pronunciation of brand names like Ohlins, Acerbis, Nissin, Showa etc. Anything thats not super obvious.

Go.

I've always heard dainese as die-knees. Sounds right.

lets try to make a list and keep adding to it. So far:

Akrapovic - (pronounced "Ack-rap'-o-vich")
Porsche - (pronounced "POR-shə")
Dainese - Die-knees (unless I'm wrong)
Gilles - ?
Acerbis - ?
Ohlins - ?
Nissin - ?
Showa - ?

maybe I should have put this in racers lounge...

I think the best way is to find people that speak the language for where the brand is from and see how they pronounce it.

Regardless of how people think they should be pronounced to better accommodate the manufacturers, they should all be prununciated in true Texan. Ergo, a 'c' is just a 'c', there are more than one silent letters in most foreign (great example - foreign should be said as 'FER - un') words, and multiple syllables should be slurred into much less discernable sounds. Examples:

Akrapovic - AH - kru - povik
Porsche - POR - sh
Dainese - DAY - neez (Common word, actually. "DAYneez some big ol' tires.")
Gilles - GILLS (duh)
Acerbis - UH - ser - biss
Ohlins - O - linz
Nissin - NIH - sn
Showa - SHOW - uh
Suomy - SOO - me
Shoei - SHOW - wee
Puig - PUG (the same noise you make to scoff at someone, similar to PFFT)
Michelin - MISH - lin
Arai - UH - rye
Sidi - SIH - dee
Toyota - TYO - duh
BMW - FAN - see
Hyosung - WUT?
Hyundai - HON - duh
Chevrolet - SHEH - vee
