Dual Sport Trip

Anyone want to go?

I'm thinking late August (I know it's fuckn hot in August but that's my only time off between semesters).

Either Big Bend or Eastern OK/Northern Arkansas. Most likely trailering the bike(s). Maybe even start it off w the harescramble the 21/22 at the Badlands.

Any bites?

Officially off before fall semester.
The more I think, the more I want to do Big Bend but the heat of August concerns me.

I'm about to order a big bend mc guide: http://www.texasadventure.net/RideGuides.htm
Does anyone have one to borrow before I do?

I'm not so sure about non-street legal bikes that can access the trails at big bend.
All the ride reports I've seen are SL dual sports. Hmmm.

Magicman and I would def be down for some CO!!!
May bypass big bend straight to colorado. yes!

this is from when I went back in June.

I think most of this will probably be gone now but there might still be some big snow walls on imogene.
edit: this isn't as cold as it looks by the way.

We both are gonna bring the street legal 'tards (xr250/wr250x) and dirtbike (crf450r) in the van. Well, that's the plan for now. But def gonna plan everything to make it work.
Is your DRZ the street legal sumo?
Or should we plan on strictly trails?

Nah I have the offroad kicker. but I usually fake it around the high country because there arent many cops...anyway plenty of riding to be had either way.

I am trailering and I will have room for probably two more bikes on the traier.

Werd. I'm down for some awesomesauce CO trial riding. I'll be on the 450r so I'll be faking too. I'm bringing a back-up though. Motor scares me.

that actually equates to mid to upper 50s in the high country. Be sure to bring some insulating layers. Also for the nights too, it will be getting a bit chilly after dark.
