i haven't had a tix in a while ( lucky, or sneaky ???) but if the cop made a mistake and u think u have a chance to beat it, seems like a lawyer would be the way to go if it's worth the $ to hire one. how bad was the tix $

and are cops required to be at a court date if u decide to fight it? more often than not they don't show is what i've heard. but if the guy REALLY hated u...he might stick it to ya! :(

best of luck

Show up at the court desk and when they ask what you want to do with the ticket, DD, pay fine, or challenge, just challenge it. You have X days to show up for those options before you actually have to appear in court, which then the judge will be annoyed to deal with it. You'd be better off requesting a challenge several days in advance. Normally the cops don't show, and with evidence, you can get a judge to dismiss it.

Also look at the address that he clocked your speed (on the ticket) vs where you pulled over.

This happened to me a while back. I got pulled over doing 38 in a 30, but by the time the cop u-turned, caught up with me and i pulled over, we were in a 35mph zone. He wrote the ticket and not until i pulled out to leave did I notice it was (now) a 35mph zone. I thought I had him and went back to take pictures, but as I was driving back (the opposite way now), I noticed that it turned into a 30mph zone at the spot he clocked me, not the spot I had pulled over.

Just FYI.

the address you got the ticket at is on the paper, just google it and make sure its in the 35mph zone, if you wanna do more go park past it and take a picture of the sign and your bike. I dont think you need a lawyer, i contest all mine alone.

I dont see how he has proof against you on the lights, just contest that too.

it's no secret, memorial village cops write bogus tickets for at least the dismissal fee, they'll do anything for cash.
