HOUSTON – A Harris County motorcycle deputy was in the hospital Sunday afternoon after getting in an accident during a funeral procession.

The incident happened on the Katy Freeway outbound at the Silber Rd. exit.

According to authorities, the deputy was escorting a funeral procession when one of the last vehicles in line hit another car, which struck the deputy.

Authorities have no word on the deputy’s condition.

We will be sure to update the story as more information becomes available.

He should not go to jail, just like the cop that ran the stop sign and almost killed the biker in Austin.

He should get off almost completely.

Why don't officers wear protective gear??

I have videos of the after part, once I figure out how to upload...
That is a question I long waited an answer on!!

I have a friend that is a bike cop, he was telling me that funeral processions and escorts, in general, are the biggest culprit when it comes to deaths and accidents.

I heard your tone when you were talking to your kid in one of the videos. You were telling him/her that there was an accident. Sounded really caring and tender towards her. I was just stating a thought.

Disegard me.

What I don't get is why the do they do the funerals on the actual freeway, I almost hit a moto cop about a year ago just east of 610 and i10 while they were doing the funeral. Almost wish I would of hit him cause he literally lane split past me in the same lane I was in, came outa nowhere.

I think the funerals should stay on the feeder roads in the middle lane or far right.

I thought he was just narrating to the camera as he was rolling, all "news reporter" style!
