Exclamation motorcycle cop down at I-10

Holy ! Saw the whole thing... the story is long but the end is that a Camry that was not paying attention braked hard skidded the swerved onto traffic jack knifed the motorcycle almost going 70mph. The cop rolled about 20-30ft. I was insane, when I left he seemed fine and responsive, even trying to get up but the other officers were telling him to lay down. Why don't officers wear protective gear??

I have videos of the after part, once I figure out how to upload...

I will say this, even though at that point the officers were just riding. Before then, one of the officers did something that almost caused an accident and it would have been entirely his fault. Like I said the story is long, once I get home I'll try and up load pics

well cops have a ton of gear on, plus most wear body armor, which is heavy as , imagine wearing a a ton of leather ontop of your reg duty gear, working traffic, or chasing after someone in this heat. they just dont ride all day, they do have to come off the bike and work. stupid cager, what they do with the driver of the camry?

While I was there that's what I kept wondering!... the officers I think were so shocked and just initially worried about their comrade that the guy in the camry was not being payed too much attention too. The guy got out of his car, either he was kinda shovked from the impact or a lil intoxicated, but he looked a little glossy and sway-e... it was kinda kaotic at that point.

The Video-the whole story as I saw it

I was coming from Shepherd towards Katy on I-10. When I was just going under 610 My self and the rest of the other cars had to suddenly stop (almost a screeching halt) because all we (I) saw was a motorcycle cop coming what looked like towards traffic (as if he lost control) he did a very quick and sudden U-turn before slowing his bike to a crawl and putting his hands up signaling us to stop( i was very confused). It seemed like he just came out of no where and there was no initial reason we saw for him to halt traffic! (I thought something was wrong with him since he pulled that weird move on mid day traffic) A few seconds later we see another moto-cop and two limos right behind him, he also let a bunch of other cars go and then he was met by about 3 other moto-cops (one of which would be the one to be later on hit) before he let all of us through.

Once traffic go back to normal, i say normal because i was already at about 60mph. All of the sudden, i don't know if it was the exit that all of the sudden just halted or if the guy in the camry was completely distracted by the motorcycle lights. I just remember hearing tires screech and when i looked over it seemed the Camry was about to rear end a stopped car, then all of the sudden he turned his wheels to the left lost control and T-boned the officer. The officer and his bike rolled on for about 20-30 feet towards the far left of the lane. I had to brake hard and turn across two lanes to the shoulder. here is some video I recorded.
