doesn't anyone wear helmets anymore???

I've probly seen 20 bikes on the road today, and not one rider in a helmet. Most of em were in gym shorts and had a helmet on the back, "just in case". Is this what they mean when they say squid? I actually never heard that word before I came to houston. In atlanta that would be referred to as a "douche-bag"

Its scary to me even seeing the half-shell types.. I think I remember a study they did on helmet impacts and a very good percentage is right in the chin/face area.. Dont get me wrong.. I will squid it up without a jacket sometimes, but a helmet? Never!

I went to a meet last night and I was the ONLY rider in full gear - Sidi boots, leather Teknic jacket, full face helmet. I was the douche.

There was a guy on a cruiser (maybe chopper - I couldn't really see the bike so well) who was wearing shorts, flip flops, and a sun visor.

Most of us on MH believe in ATGATT!

Half helmets are sketchy. Personally I would prefer a reverse half helmet. I would rather take a blow to the back of the head than straight to the face. Who wants to help me design one...we'll be rich. Oh wait...that would just be a hockey mask. I admit though, it July and August I don't wear a jacket but I try to just stick to surface streets and stay off the freeway, that way I might just have one or two layers of skin left if I fall off. It is just too hot for me.

Yes those are what we like to call squids.. Amongst other things. I would always have at least my helmet, gloves, jeans and jacket to ride. I hate feeling like i have to hold back because i'm waiting to heal up from something.

Helmets look good strapped to the side of the bike. Makes great frame sliders.

was in cali last month,LA to be exact. EVERY rider had a helmet on....EVERYONE!!! i think they have a very strict helmet law...with all the legal lane splitting out there,i guess you have to.

i wear jeas, quarter top tennis shoes, gloves AND ALWAYS A HELMET... in the winter or on chilly days and nights...leather jacket. oh i wear my summer jacket, icon timax(see avatar) when i ride to work in the mornings.
