noob chain oil question

I got a can of ELF chain lube, 400 ml decent size can, about how long should that last if i use it every 300- 400 miles?

i cleaned the chain, then gave 2-3 full rotations of the chain worth of spray ( not full stream of spray, but enough to get in all the nooks n crannys) can feels almost completely full.

just wanna make sure i'm using about the right amount. about how long does a can last with u guys?

The can will last as long as there is lube left in it.

I can't really help you, as we share chain lube with my sisters family and there are six bikes between us.

We use some cleaner (can't remember the brand), rinse, and lube. It works great and I do it every few thousand miles when I change my oil.

I suppose we are lucky that we have each other to ride with; my dad rides, too. My daughter will be taking MSF next winter (when she's 15) and we're going to get her a 250, so she can ride with us, too.

I clean with WD40 and lube with some o-ring safe chain lube maybe after 2 gas ups = 300miles

Intermission uses some chain wax from cycle gear (i think) and it looks better than the chain lube that I use because my lube is white as compared to a clear/invisible look on his chain wax.

I clean my chain with wd40 also. I also give it some when I come in from a ride in the rain. It really does get the water out. As we all know water can help to rust the chain and rust is not good.
As far as chain lubes go I must have 4 or 5 cans of various types sitting on the shelf. I am currentl also using the DuPont Teflon dry chain , goes on easy and does not sling as a lot of others do.

18K miles so far on my liter bike chain and still looks great.

A clean chain is a happy chain.

If you have a problem with the chain lube "flying off" the chain and onto your bike, try lubing the chain after a ride so the chain and lube cool down together and "set" the lube in place.
