If the rain doesn't let up today, the track will probably have water running onto the surface the whole time.

It certainly has at TWS (Texas World Speedway). The track would seep the entire time. As for this new track, I wouldn't know. I would imagine that it would hold water more due to its location.

FOrtuately the track has excellet drainage. The infield and other off track areas do not however. If you have driven on the new parts of 45 you know the new asphalt mix allows water to drain through it so there isn't even any spray off the wheels. Very cool. Turns 16/17 can still be a bit slipery since the sealer, but no biggie. If you have never riden in the rain, look at it like a great learning opportunity. You will learn more on the wet in one day than you will in months of dry riding. Smooth is the key to staying on track on two wheels, use it and learn how your bike slides and how to control those slides to your advantage. It IS scary at first and some never get used to it, but if you can overcome that fear and go into it slowly you will come away a much better and well rounded rider. Oh.......and rain tires are amazing if you have never tried them, but most street tires are what we consider "intermediate" tires. They work great in the wet, they were designed with the wet in mind.
Even if it does rain, it probably won't rain all day and the track dries very quickly!! No excuses.............let's ride!!

I assume there will be folks to help me set the bike up for track readiness?
