Sounds like a gas problem could be a pump issue

Read the fi code, all you need is a piece of speaker wire.

2 cylinders are not fireing eaither due to plugs or coils aparently when 2 shuts down so does 4. It may also be a valve or timing fuel is good got it started. But it sounds like a lawn mower

how old are the plugs? how many miles on the bike? ever had the valves adjusted?
pull the plugs and test them on a weedwacker or chainsaw, some thing where you can see if the have a strong spark.. they might look new but still be bad.. my $.02

I had this happen a few years ago to me - on a ZX6R...ended up being a detonated #4 cylinder...motor was scrap...

Hope this isn't the same case...
