Ormand... Unfortunately there is no weight bracket racing But if you get under 2min at TWS (Texas World Speedway) maybe you can be a part of Big Body Racing...

They used to be up at the HAK meets.

I was too thin to join back then, but I might qualify now.

Do you know if you can order leather decals, etc. from them without ordering a suit?
I am sure they can do it...shoot them an email (sales@pilotleather.com) The ormand.net logo was apparently pretty challenging because of the detail according to Pilot but they got it done

I like standing out like a soar thumb and being my size will allow me to do that.

And the perforations breath pretty darn well considering how tight the fit is.

Today I had my final ride for atleast a week in the leathers - probably a lil over 150 miles today - totalling about 500+ mi in 3 days/8 combined hours. Today, though, I rode with a tank bag (for gym) and it wasn't as bad as I thought although it did get in the way sometimes. I went to gym in Clear Lake, then Kasra Persian Grill (westchase), then Beltway 8/I-10 to Downtown, Allen Parkway (it was a lil damp!), rode through downtown, then Nasa to Space Center Blvd, then Bay Area to Red Bluff, then Red Bluff to Deer Park, then 225 to 146 back to Nasa Road One and then I-45 to home...a rather awesome ride! No knee scraping but the suit is getting more "relaxed", so to speak. I had a lady turn into my lane on I-45N while riding next to her, and I tapped her door with my boot, and I had a weird incident when taking Westheimer/Beltway 8 South (to get gas @ Shell) where my boot got caught in the road and the back end wiggled til my boot became loose. Oh, and a fun rear slide on a wet turn returning home. If fun was for sale, I would be a rich man today

The A* underwear was still drenched from yesterday and became more drenched today - only washing it now for the 1st time. The suit is still pretty damp inside but there isn't much I can do to dry it up. Putting in on and taking it off, at gym and at Kasra, was again a peice of cake. Definently like riding with this 1pc much more than regular jacket/knee guards/etc. It feels more natural, maybe even a bit more confident.

The next thing I need to get is a micro tank bag for my wallet/cellphone/insurance/eztag. And a track day next time my work and TD schedules align themselves. Down the road: a trailer and maybe another bike. I don't know if I should turn the 650 into a track and buy a 09 zx6r for street, or the other way around, or maybe just a cheap used 600cc...so much to decide! I think for right now, I will just use the 650 for a few track days and make a more accurate decision later.

I don't have time to clean things everyday. Theres nothing gross about it if you sweat as much as me.

Intresting review Ormand, they look great

As I'm sure others will tell you, leather gives with time and wear so the fit should come to you if it's a little "snug" in places!

packs and small back packs are great for carrying the necessities!!

Well the problem is for *street* riding...I can't carry a bungee cord with me. I guess the best solution for now atleast is to just walk in to a restaurant, sit down and then zipper down...and zipper back up when I am done eating ioc

wow sweet! They have me quoted on their site ... awesome.

I haven't crash tested it, but I have done a couple trackdays on it and I'm very happy with the suit and the whole process. Lots of emails back and forth, but that didn't bother me as I figured they just wanted to make sure everything was done right.

Quality is top notch and I just love being able to design my own.

Hey Ormand. Just wondering how you feel about the suit now that it has been several months?

The suit is great - I ride frequently on the streets with them. Over time, they have expanded and aren't so *tight* like before, but I do find some things constricted. For example, I still can't spread my legs beyond 45 degrees when getting off the seat whereas in my riding jeans, I can spread out a lot. The ends of the arms and legs have rolled a little but I guess this is normal because they are being covered and squeezed by boots and gloves.

Quality-wise, they are *excellent* They do show some wear and tear as to be expected and the "Pilot" emblems are yellowing slightly but not noticable unless comparing it side-by-side to a brand new emblem. The custom leather and vinyl lettering is also holding up as good as one can expect...the smaller peices of "ormand.net" are curling a little, but again, to be expected.

Putting them on and taking them off is MUCH easier now. And when I take off the upper part, I now bring a bungee cable with me under my seat to hold up the leathers, per AJFlo's suggestion. All the zippers still work great and as I tell everyone else, I would rather put leathers on than all the street gear - it's actually faster and simpler. Sitting on the bike in leathers feels natural.

I'm very pleased with the product and will order a 2nd pair once I get a trackbike and figure out the color schematics I'd like to go for white leathers for my next set for exclusive-track duty

Glad you like them, I am going to get with John about ordering some. I happen to be in your bracket at 6 foot, 265 lbs.

I wear a size 50 in both Teknic and Fieldsheer. I am hoping I can buy a 50 Pilot off the shelf.

FWIW I crash tested both the Teknic and Fieldsheer and both saved my bacon and were farily easy to repair the minor damage that occured. I would rate the Fieldsheer above the Teknic suite I had, although I believe the Teknic was the lower end suitr at the time. TMPG tore it up fairly well, but as I said, all repairable.

Thanks for the review. Sounds like a quality product.
