1 HR. left on this EBAY beauty

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1941-...QQcmdZViewItem

5b 1

note the reserve price interesting story behind this rare bird.
the motor, being an experimental design, was stolen way back in the day by a H.D. employee.
then found and installed in this frame and 50 odd years later its a lonely one of a kind now

All the information I got came from Gerry Branch. Is seems that he owned this bike for a few years. It now belongs to Carman Brown in Canada.
As I remember the story the engine was put into a warehouse during WWII. After the war HD sent some employees over to inventory the warehouse. One of them found this engine and stole it. When it was discovered he was fired. He kept the engine and took it with him to his new job as a wrench for a HD Dealer. This dealer had a -load of used 45's in his shop so the wrench installed the stolen engine in one of them. They used to use the bike to ride next to their WR's on the track to see how they were running. It would leave a WR in the dust. HD got wind of it and threatened to shut the dealer down if the bike was not given back to them. They sent their district manager to collect the motorcycle, which he did. However he kept it at his home and after some time it was once again forgotten about.
Many years later the now retired district manager contacted his old friend Gerry Branch to see if he was interested in buying the long lost 45 OHV. Gerry had worked at the dealership where the bike was and he knew it well. He did buy it, restored it and it passed thru a couple of hands before Carman brown got it, many years ago. Now Carmen is selling it on eBay.
The engine is basically a scaled down Knucklehead.
You can see photos of it on eBay and on page 181 of "Inside Harley-Davidson" by Jerry Hatfield.

Thanks indeed
The Thunderheart I have is the newest they have for the 04 and up.
the Type of crank trigger system I have there was no way to adjust timing at all. I wanted to timing under full boost and it was impossible until they finailized the digital bad boy. It was a pain in the at first because of working the bugs out of a new program, but once whooped, the ignition is awesome and works perfect.
I can program up to 45* advance or , can program a launch rev limiter, program any rpm redline I think my motor can handle instead of the 6k factory, my motor now shifts at 7.5k, can program a NX window, and upload maps with my PC and make changes on the module without the PC connected.
With the cams and springs combo I have the power really comes on hard at 5k rpms and all the way till I shut it down. I had bigger valves and titanium keepers installed in the heads, they were ported on a cnc machine and looked like artwork when I got em back.
The motor is ready for the turbo big time, but I wont re-install till this winter when I make some other changes to the frame and rear swingarm and suspension design (going to a mono shock air ride system). I also am switching to chain drive to handle the extra HP.
