Another view of the crash.

And another update.

The doctors are busy investigating the cause of what is happening and can not yet give a definitive answer. The recovery of the operation went well, Tristan was therefore in the course of the day to his room but has a lot of pain. The pain is unbearable at the moment and even an overdose of pain to no avail.

The doctors are working hard to investigate where his pain comes from. Tristan is out of danger but the risk of infection is still on the lookout for the young driver. Tristan is in the UMCG in good hands and be closely monitored by medical specialists.

Monday we will post another update on the state of Tristan Lentink.

That was sickening to watch. Very bad deal. Prayers for the riders involved.

As for all the comments. It's racing. I'm not second guessing any of it, those guys are at a much higher level than I will ever be. It sure as wasn't on purpose by anyone involved.

He got clipped by the first rider and thrown off the bike when the second rider hit him. Its obvious from the last vid that those 2 riders were not paying as much attention as the rest of the field because they would have been farther away from him in the first place.

wow. just watched these vids for the 1st time. brutal stuff.

and after watching that last video, it's even more brutal cause the guy that hit him was the LAST bike in the field. Tristan was one rider away from just haveing a stalled bike and some drawers.

That's the same kind of race start crash that effectively ended Scott Russell's career (in the other video). I've seen other similar videos of starting line crashes like that when someone stalls the bike. I wonder if any race organizations have looked at throwing an immediate red flag if something like that happens or if it would even be pratical or possible to immediately stop a race start to prevent this kind of accident?
