Well, I'm not going to pretend that I was always a gear . I've rode a lot back in the day with just a lid and gloves. When I had the Goldwing, if I wasn't going to work, I was riding in shorts, tennis shoes, and gloves. Passenger was lucky enough they might have a lid. When I got the ninja, the only gear I thought I needed was just a lid.

Now after being a member of MH, been on numerous rides, reading numerous rider down threads, and the other drama associated with bikes, gear is a must for me and the passenger. The passenger and I wear helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, and sometimes knee protection. My passenger is worth more than my life because I don't believe I could handle having someone rashed up or worse from not wearing proper gear.

Riding is the risk we take when we turn the key, shift down, and twist the throttle. Riding is a beast that needs to be thought through before even walking out the door.

+1 Plus I don't know how people will only ride with sunglasses on so rocks or bugs will not hit their eye.
