+11ty billion. I have no rear seat or pegs on my bike anymore. Not worth it if anything were to happen to them.

I've almost completely stopped riding with passengers or in groups........I ride solo 99.99% of the time. Less drama all the way around, the only complaining I hear is MY old tired .............and I can tell myself to STFU and not get any response most of the time.

What if your bike does not have decent/good tires/brakes, do you still take them?

Is it really worth taking some other persons life into your own hands without even the most basic pieces of protection?

Decent helmet ~$300
Decent tires ~$350
Decent jacket ~$200
Jeans ~$50
Decent gloves ~$30

Im not a member of the ATGATT club, i really do wish i was dedicated enough. But unless I am just putting around the neighborhood, I make sure that i have a helmet on at least, a jacket/gloves 75% of the time, and jeans 99% of the time.
BUT I ALWAYS make sure my passenger has HELMET/JACKET/GLOVES/JEANS before we leave the driveway.

I just want to see what other people out there have to say about this subject.
i dont take passengers. my passenger pegs are removed

I let my girl buy her own gear. So far, she has a helmet and I'm fine with that. I would hate to see her get hurt so I when she's on the back, I'm on my best behavior. I think the most important thing you can do for riding safely 2up is skill and communication. You should know how to ride by yourself very well before you get someone else on the back. And when you do, you should have a constant discussion about what works for the both of you as far as comfort and safety. That's how I am with my girl.

Now with a random girl, I don't care as much, I admit. This one girl just took the extra helmet I have, and got on my bike with sandals on. She said she rode before so I had my little pre-ride talk and we were off. Long story short, she burned her foot on the exhaust and she unsettled my bike quite a few times. Countersteering is a must when it comes to keeping control of the bike with a passenger

I'm gonna get new rearsets for the monster and the pass pegs are coming off too.

I dont think you CAN be a passenger with the way I like to ride

the only issue i have with my girl is that she likes to lay on me and i understand that my bike has a big seat for 2 but its not really for 2 people when im on it... but she gets her own gear if she wants to ride and she knows how to ride and lean with me

i use hand signals and tap her thigh when i want to get a little giddy with it

I dont take my wife 2 up any more since we had our son. Got her a bike of her own. That way if something catastrophic happens, he doesnt lose both of us on one bike, especially after that couple died in Austin in Lime Creek Road from Houston that left the 2 children orphaned.

Plus if one of us dies, the other has to give up riding.

My gf wears jacket, jeans & helmet.I need to get her some gloves to top things off.She knows already even if its hot,the jacket stays on.I do plan on getting her a mesh one soon too since the JoeRocket she has right now doesn't let any air in at all.

She absolutely hates split, super sport, seating since the passenger seat is so much higher than the drivers.I sat on it in my garage and yeah its like sitting on a ladder. She prefers my 650r's banana seat any day.

My 13 y.o. daughter rides with me sometimes, and you bet she's geared up. Thing is, it's hard to find road gear for kids. Lots of dirt bike gear, they start 'em young I guess, but finding the right size full-face helmet, jacket and gloves took some shopping. She's a great passenger, BTW. I told her on the first ride what to do and what not to do, some hand signals to communicate (like banging on my helmet when she has to stop ) and off we go.

my gf has her own helmet, jacket, and gloves......my requirements are a helmet, jeans, and over the ankle footwear. I prefer that they at least wear a long sleeve shirt/sweatshirt. I cant say anything because I only wear my jacket 90% of the time(although i always wear a helmet, gloves, and boots)
