Pretty cool looking little bike, i'll wonder if they'll bring it here to replace the 500?

Id rather have the current 500cc motor with an updated look like the 250 or an inline 4, 400cc engine, that looked along the lines of the 250.

We dont need a smaller 650r

650r with a smaller engine sounds like a recipe for fail, eh?

400cc
203kg
Maximum Power 32 kW {43 PS} / 9,500 rpm
Maximum Torque 37 Nm {3.8 kgfm} / 7,500 rpm

650cc
204kg
Maximum Power 53 kW {72.1 PS} / 8,500 rpm
Maximum Torque 66 Nm {6.7 kgfm} / 7,000 rpm

1kg weight difference but down 25% on power

wow. pricey also. i converted $7499 canadian to usd and it was $7254.52
i would foam at the mouth at the thought of having a good 400, but this thing as much as i would like to say otherwise, seems to be a joke.

400r retails for $7499 CAN (2011)
650r retails for $8699 CAN (2010)

DIFFERENCE: $1200

$1200 for 1 less kg and down on power but same looks...doesn't make sense unless they are dropping the 500r entirely?

actually not everyone want 650 power...

people buy 250R's for the same reason...

perhaps the person is too large for a 250 but doesnt want a 650...

it doesnt matter to me... the 400r and 650r look gay to me anyway, I really hate the bench seat.... a lot

More than likely it ain't comin here. There's always been smaller displacement, cool looking bikes that don't make it here. I think Honda has a cbr 400 or something like that overseas that we will prob never see. There is really not a market for small displacement here. Remember how we Americans think, bigger is better.

yeup. if you ever want to see something cool, and then get depressed about it. look at a japanese motorcycle's japanese website. they have so many more cool bikes that we will never see, and most of them are well under 600cc's

exactly, all the 650R needs really is a different tail fairing and it would be a much nicer looking bike...

Its pretty sad when someone gets a 650R and the best they can do is buy a fkn $250 rear seat cowl

I think shoving the 400R motor in a 250R frame would be a nice seller...

I was told that Suzuki was considering bringing in a GSXR400 to the US, mainly due to the success of the Ninja 250. The one good point was that is would have to have nice components like the GSXR and not dumbed down. Who knows if it will happen.

I will say that I really enjoyed my VFR400R when I had it. I even enjoyed the Bandit 400 I briefly co-owned. I wouldn't mind owning a 400 again.

A GSXR400 would be fun, but I am not so much liking this 400.

Seems a bit expensive.
Google search turned up
Released to Japan and Canada, will likely not come to USA
at less than 400cc there may be a significant insurance break for the Canadians.

Not every one can afford this sport, Americans have a lot of disposable cash and credit.
