1. have u taken a motorcycle safety course? should be a law in texas. xtremely helpful and will likely save u and ur motorcycle from doing something stupid
2. read online reviews/ suggestions for what type of bike is good for u. don't get too much power. u won't know what to do with it.
3. BUY PROTECTIVE GEAR. look up pics of road rash on the internet. scared the bejesus outta me, so i spend the $$$ quickly!

Yup. And work on your maneuver/brake/reaction time, being able to better manipulate your bike. The day a car slams on his brakes or swerves into your lane, is the day it either pays off or you learn that it's not all throttle and straight lines.

Gear is very important.

i been tryin to figure out i know hitting the track is a good way to learn how to handle you bike i kno was told there are only few a month so where else coould i go besides a track

Nice that you have that mindset already. There are quite a few track days. Also, try hitting up some vacant parking lots.
