passenger goes down on 45 south and 2004

PLEASE....PLEASE PEOPLE TAKE CARE OF YOUR PASSENGERS!!! young girl had her leg amputated smooth off on 45s and 2004(near dog track) in lamarque. NO HELMET,WEARING SHORTS!!!! don't let your wife, girlfriend,or any female ride 2up without gear!!!! don't know if that would have stopped the leg from being severed off....

Ah - I see that you are an EMT. Makes sense how you know about the accident. Sorry if you had to work it. Any idea on the girl's age? Very sad for her, for sure. Can't believe somebody would let their gf/daughter/wife ride with no gear.

I still just don't get it. That's a mistake that will affect her for the rest of her life. Maybe gear wouldn't have saved her leg (or it may have). I'm sure she has other injuries that could have been prevented though. Best wishes for her and her family.

i didn't work it,but i work in the er...so say by the rider a car cut them off and she got ejected. she has both arms broken and the other leg has multiple fractures...amazingly she is alive.

jp171,she was in the classic shock of a trauma pt. very quiet and tachy near the svt, she was in svt with breathing 40 a min. good pressure though..

to those of u in the medical field, this is not a hippa violation. no names have or will be mentioned. just know she was a young female.older than 18.

prolly not in just shock prolly hypovolemic, cardiovascular embaressment due to trauma is bad enough, add the fact that she prolly lost alot of blood secondary to soft tissue damage and broken bones remember compensated hypovolemic shock will show good pressure but high heart rate, svt may be because of that maybe the p-wave was hidden in the QRS complex. not sure what they did to stabilize, fluid challenge is a good start then control the bleeding, then whole blood, get her in surgery and fix the amputation. then fix the other stuff, either regular realignment or open reduction. the resp rate is prolly due to several things, pain, being scared shitless, pain, not really knowing whats going on anxiety. nope I don't see a violation, basically a good scenario to make the mind work, the names have been changed to protect the innocent, the guilty and everyone else
