Exclamation Ohlins Superbike shock to fit Yam WR450?

Hi guys/gals. I'm new here. A Veteran member of this board suggested I join and post this question here....and since I live in Houston, its that much better :-) I have a WR450 Supermoto bike that I am building. I want to know if anyone knows if any of the superbike rear shocks will bolt up to my wr450? If yes, will I need to get the shocked revalved and sprun since the WR450 is only about a 250lb bike?

Thanks,
Mike

I know that Motorcycles unlimited worked with John on setting up his WR450 motard, and he is happy with how it performs.

Hey thanks for all the replies guys. I've dealt with Motorcycles Unlimited before, they made some spacers for my bike :-) What I am really looking for is an Ohlins shock from a bike that I can buy off ebay or something, that will fit on my WR450. I have seen the one on SMJ, and its nice....but i'm on a budget, which is why i'm seeing if I can source a second hand ohlins from a different bike that will work on my WR450....i'm sure there are some will work but I just have no clue which ones might. When I say I have a supermoto bike, what I mean is more of a street hooligan. I'm not a racer....just ride for fun.

Thanks guys,
Mike

I have no idea if it can be made to fit, but this guy is selling his used Ohlins off a ZX10 for a fair price. I don't think I have seen one go cheaper. I know with Penskes, they can be modified to fit others, so I imagine it can be done with Ohlins within limits.

I also know of someone that has his Ohlins off his FZ1, that he is wanting to unload as he took it off when he traded it in on a BMW Friday. Probably a little more expensive than the one listed.

I am not sure what year model FZ1 but I think it was a second generation. If you are interested, le tme know and I will get you his contact info.
