Oh ya. If you've not been to an NHRA race, you're really missing something. Think about this.... one single cylinder on a nitro funny car or dragster has more horsepower than an entire motor on a NASCAR Nextel series racer.

All that power is quite an experience, too. You can plug your ears all you want but the sound resonates through you. It's quite the rush, actually.

HAHA....I've never been to a NHRA race that...but i know they have 7,000+ hp and it takes 800 to turn the supercharger they have...crazy huh..whens the next NHRA event?

+1 It's a trip. I went a few times years ago. Kenny Berstein's engine blew up as it past in front my section of the stands.. next thing you know it was raining tiny drops of oil and muck on us.. grooooss!

They're up to over 8K HP with the nitro cars now. The bikes are a trip, too.

Nothing else like it in the world. I always describe it to people as the world stops for 4.7 seconds each time they run. :notworthy
