May have tapped the wheel bearings in too far...

Installed the bearing on the sprocket side, tapped it until it bottomed out. Installed the bearing on the brake side, bottomed it out. I noticed the long bushing that floats in the middle of the hub for the axle shaft was locked up. I installed the seal for the bearing on the brake side, it sits perfectly flush so I assume that bearing didn't go too far. I tapped the axle shaft bushing a little bit from the brake side, freed it up some and I can rotate the inner race of the bearings now but there's resistance. Any ideas?
