dude, ur best option will be to have the owner ride the bike to motorcycles-unlimited on 1960. they will do a free visual inspection and if u want a detailed one, i think they do it for 50-60bucks and it take s coupla hours.

if that doesnt work out, then carbonr1 is a good guy, knows his stuff. if even that doesnt work out, lemme know, i will try, though my knowledge is just OKish. i had bought an 02R6 myself last year, so i know a lil bit wat to look for..certainly not enough though i wld say...
i m off 290 and jones, so it aint too far
Edit: but I can make it only a lil bit earlier, cos I have to leave for Oak Hill around that time

I'm glad to have helped you out with this deal..

heres the scoop.
1. Fork Seal leak on right fork
2. front rim bent on right side
3. Needs a Chain kit
4. Coolant leak
5. Runs Sluggish at idle, no telling how it runs
6. Engine cover on left side has been removed for some reason. bad gasket " or should i say silicone" job on reinstallation.
7. New brake pads in front and rear would be nice
The body was nice and clean sept for a few minor scratches but, " it has never been dropped" some one please explain that one?!?!?!?

Overall, i would give it a 4 out of 10.

Needs maybe, in my opinion $500-$600 to get her safe enough for any responsible rider to ride.

Who knows whats under the sheets?

I suggested to have it taken to Patricks at Motorcycles Unlimited for a Professional Check up and Diagnosis.

$50.00 out of pocket for him to say " no way save your money" is alot cheaper than dropping $3800 and then Patrick saying you shouldn't have.

The owner claims that "it has been setting for several weeks is part of the reason it idles the way it does".

a big B/S on this, mine sets up between trackdays everytime, and i never have any trouble at all.. Runs perfect everytime i hit the button.
Hope I helped you out. and hope that you make a consious decision on what to buy or what to do.

If you need further assistance, you have my cell number.

Sorry for such a long post....

probably not. sound like it need alot of to fix up. 3800 and then get all those parts replace is gonna be around 4xxx. you can get a better bike for that. but i think u should get a 250 first. and save up more for the 600 later down the line.
