Glad the truck driver is OK, it would really suck if he took someone else's Father/Brother/Son out because he chose to run...
Condolences to the family...

haha they thought the had me good, and the cop chasing blew past me because my lights were off.

Wow, this story is NOT shocking at all. Condolances to his family. When will people learn running from the police is not "cool".

You're right.. The fact that I knew him. I'm still shaken up by it. You always hear about some random guy that everyone knew but you, dying. Not a friend that you knew.

No more lane splitting for me.

Sam Rios a.k.a. Coast Rider

This is simply for the all of yall out there that didn't know him and our showing a lack of RESPECT for a man that deserved it. Sam served 3 tours of duty in Iraq with the Airforce seeing that no man should fighting for your Country protecting everything that you hold dear. He is still an Active Duty member of the United States Coast Guard. He is a Respected member of the military and will be missed. In the Houston Community he has Volunteered repeatedly to the point that he received a Presidential Citation for Voluteer Services. He leaves behind 2 children, both under 2 years old, a wife and a more friends than anyone could ever want. He was a great man.

Before you continue to critisize remember that some war veterans that come back from seeing the that he saw are continually seeking some type of thrill or escape. Sam fought for what you have now so SHUT THE UP AND SHOW SOME RESPECT.

He obviously chose NOT to honor his duties as a father and husband by making the decision to run from the police. That has been proven. Respect. Well, once again, he blew that responsibility as well. He lacked that due to his actions. I think I could go on and on.

When you have a family, that is supposed to mean maturity. Slow down. Wise up. He obviously hadn't learned that yet. If anyone on here chooses to act an idiot they choose the consequences from those actions. Plain and simple.

It would be completely different if he had been killed by a wreckless driver, but that isn't the case. He alone and nobody else chose his destiny. Now, he left behind a family and in that is the real tragedy.

excellent point/post
